4' shingle-over ridge vent is a low profile external baffle vent that creates a clean uncluttered roofline. It installs on the peak of the roof allowing exhaust ventilation along the entire ridge. An external baffle creates low pressure over the vent openings to pull air from the attic and deflects wind and weather over the vent to help protect the attic from rain and snow infiltration. Ridge Vents are a type of attic exhaust vent that make up half of a balanced attic ventilation system for each roof. Intake vents make up the other half of the system. Together they help remove any built-up heat and moisture inside the attic for year-round ventilation. Ridge Vents install at the peak to provide continuous exhaust airflow horizontally along the roof. Their low profile makes them nearly invisible from the ground.
